Keith and Pan!c are a part of a music project called 52 Week High. Their record comes out Friday February 12th. They are performing live in Pontiac, MI at the Pike Room. You can get the record at the show or here.

In Headband news, we are working on a new record. Much like our 1st full length record, Happiness is Underrated, it will be recorded deep inside Northern Michigan.

Our very own Pan!c also has a solo record in the works. It will be an epic adventure!

Vinyl Released!

Tonight will be the first night the new 7″ records will be available. We’re currently working on the artwork 8am Saturday morning at Headband Headquarters. They are moving along quickly though. If you come out to the release show tonight you can pick one up. There is a limited run of 200, after that they’ll be gone FOREVER. We’re very excited for this show, hope to see all of your shiny faces there… in costume please. We know that it takes guts to go out on a limb and dress up as a space person, but as the saying goes, you only get out of it what you put into it. Please put it in (to the night). And we will put it in (to the night). And together we will make beautiful magical metaphorical children.

Going East / DESKTOP remix

Tomorrow we depart for our east coast jaunt – 3 shows: DC, Brooklyn, Live @ Asbury Park NJ… its basically a tour that Bruce Springsteen would have done in his early days. In fact, this tour is a tribute to the Boss. Speaking of tributes, we’re playing with a Bee Gees tribute band two of the nights called Tragedy. Supposedly they’re the #1 All Metal Tribute to the Bee Gees in the Tri-State Area, but Ive heard that claim too many times before, so we’ll see about that.

In other news, brother Keith has another musical endeavor called DESKTOP. They’re fantastic and just released a Vinyl EP of electronic disco dancey goodness that you can buy from their site, and Headband contributed a remix of one of their tunes called “Fired Up” to their other free My Boo EP. Listen, download, blow up your speakers.

The Past: Part 1

A couple weeks ago we were rehearsing in the basement. Two dudes showed up, one with a camera, and one taking mental notes. The one with the camera said he was attempting to take the monotony out of a captured moment in time. So he asked us if we would be up for helping him do that. We said that we would be happy to, and he had come to the right group of people. He is a very talented person. Here is the result of one of those captured moments:

We will have the new CD’s available this weekend at the DIY Street Fair (Spet 18-20) in Ferndale — sold Saturday & Sunday at the Bellyache Record Shoppe booth. We’ll have a new T-shirt available too. All of this stuff is handmade and designed by the band. We play the main stage at 8pm on Saturday night, however it’s a pretty amazing event and we encourage you to spend some time supporting and seeing all of the great craft/bands/artists’.

yesterday was saturday, and instead of enjoying the beautiful michigan summer weather, i chose to make a show poster. Why did i do this? Simple. The poster wasn’t gonna make itself. So, I had to decide what i wanted to make a poster about… which may seem like another simple answer: make it about the show. But not so fast Slick. It’s not that simple. This show happens to be about more than one thing there Slick. So, just keep your quick slick answers to yourself, and let me continue. IT happens to be both an EP Release Show AND a Space Night AND there will be limited edition vinyl records. It happens to need to include all of the bands, and the venue, and also maintain your attention long enough that you ask questions… such as “why am i looking at this right now, instead of that hot chickadee over yonder”, well let me tell you why… because she/he is not the one for you. Everything you need will be at the Phase 3 EP release show/Space Night.

On October 10th, in Detroit Michigan, at the Magic Stick… which also happens to be halloween in space somewhere, just show up dressed as an alien, a space man/woman, an astronaut, a creature, a nasa scientist, a monkey, HAL 9000, Billy D Williams, Tim Allen, The Guy from Reading Rainbow, a Muppet, or really anything… and participate in the night. Don’t just show up with a shitty attitude and chunky advertising-guy glasses… show up in a much more daring outfit. Believe me. Believe in the night. Believe in the power of a group of people dressed in space suits.

It Feels Like The First Time

It has taken us a while to enter into our latest Phase, but it is here, and it is 3. There are articles referencing it from long ago. But in the DIY age we live in, where every decision is your own, its very easy to get sidetracked. Twitter, Facebook… email, phone calls, and the dance between all of them while surfing the internet and watching a youtuber and a google… SHIT!! I MEAN, it makes you want to download an EP, and just get away from it all you know? Put it on your ipod, and just GO! Go somewhere. What was i saying? Hang on, I have to leave my status and check for thumbs ups.

Simplifying is all you can do, but easier said than done eh? Fact is, we’re happy with the current results, and ready to play. We have another world-tour coming up in september/oct in support of Phase 3 EP. This time to 5 different places… and THREE!!! outside of the metro detroit area! Send on the EP digitally to as many people as you can and maybe we can expand our world-tour to 4 cities. Oh, and if you have relatives in the advertising world, send them our music too so we can get our asses in an itunes commercial, and then we can afford some classy old shit. In absolute seriousness, we’re really happy this day is here, and proud to share it with you.
